912 Freedom School is a free community-based political education institute by Deep Center for young leaders between the ages of 14-18 who live in Chatham County. The mission of 912 Freedom School is to support young people interested in building a critically conscious and connected community that can use its collective power to call attention to the issues that impact their lives, and advocate for change. 912 Freedom School specifically focuses on issues related to education because schooling is a shared experience for young people. During 912 Freedom School, Freedom Fellows will learn from and with one another to develop relationships, skills, and confidence to advocate for change.
